Tips: From Trat Bus Station in Trat province (has borders with Chanthaburi Province to the northwest, Cambodia to the east, and the Gulf of Thailand to the south) , buy a ticket to Mochit 2 Bus Station / Northeastern Bus Terminal (in Thai: หมอชิต 2/ (อาคารผู้โดยสาร) for 272 BTH (if you take the minivan). It takes around 5 hours to get to Morchit 2 Bus Station ( the minivan may stop en-route for gasoline plus the traffic jam in Bangkok).

From Morchit 2 Bus Station the last bus departs from Bangkok for Chiangmai is 10:05PM. You can choose Sombat Tour (Tel: 02 792 1444, http://www.sombattour.com) for 563 BTH (toilet on the bus, cakes and drinks are served for dinner). For cheaper option, you can choose ATS Bus Service (Tel: 02 872 1777), http://transport.co.th/ ) for a cheaper option of 438 BTH (without toilet or food served on the bus).
